PROJECT SCHEDULE
VOTRANS Ship-Based Projects
Once a project has been identified, the system components of the
vessel and other support facilities are optimized and developed
during FEED (Front-End Engineering Design). FEED is planned to complete
project-specific engineering and definition of long-lead items.
Procurement, major construction and fabrication work can then start
immediately after project sanction.
The summary
schedule shown below includes input from clients, shipbuilders,
fabricators and pipe mills, and illustrates a typical VOTRANS ship-based
project.

The
schedule assumes that commercial negotiations would be conducted
in parallel to the FEED activities to finalize the transportation
agreement and the gas sale and purchase agreement, as well as the
work to secure all governmental and regulatory approvals needed
for project sanction.
Detailed
planning has resulted in an efficient project schedule with an estimated
total vessel construction period from contract award to ship delivery
of 28-30 months - a comparable construction time to LNG ships.
VOTRANS
Barge-Based Projects
EnerSea's barge-based projects will only require approximately 20-24
months for construction and deployment from the date of project
sanction. This is due to several reasons, the main one being that
the barges are simpler and much smaller vessels to construct. Also,
the barges can also be built in many yards around the world, providing
additional access and flexibility for their construction. Tugs for
the transport service can either be purpose-built for the project
or modified from existing tugs.
A typical VOTRANS
barge-based project is shown below :
